Armagnac Glass When I was a novice wine and spirit drinker, I believed that ARMAGNAC was a brand of Cognac! Today, I am afraid that many customers of restaurants are equally ill- informed about this mysterious French spirit produced in Gascony. Some of the mystery surrounding Armagnac can be traced to the proud and independent people who inhabit Gascony, and the isolation of this landlocked region within France. Surprisingly, the distillation of Armagnac Brandy predates Cognac but it has been a closely guarded secret of the French connoisseur for many years.
