No More Seedy Service!

I'm going to complain of service in restaurants across the nation. I've done this before and I'm about to risk doing it again. Mostly, because it's not getting any better. In fact, it's getting worse - especially in those restaurants that have elected to add in real small print at the bottom of their menus "Eighteen Percent Gratuity Added."

Eighteen percent - for what? Please don't tell me it's for service because I've got eyes, and I can't shut them. I watch when I'm in my restaurants and I watch when I'm in your restaurants. Believe me when I tell you that we're not doing it right all the time. Sometimes I want to get up from my table and help out one of your customers. I'll see them looking around, stretching their necks trying to catch someone's eye - and not a sole in sight. I want to say, "what's wrong? You need more rolls or more wine? Let me get it."
